I have 2 Yamaha HS8 speakers and want a basic stereo mix with my Realtek HD onboard sound. I did have it working previously, but one day I plugged in an XBox 360 controller into one of the USB slots, and all of a sudden both channels came through the left speaker.
I've tried reconfiguring the outputs using Realtek HD Audio Manager, but no matter what I do, the left channel comes out of the left and right speakers, and the bass channel comes out of my right speaker, but there is no right channel at all. I have set the stereo option, but surely there are only 2 possibilities in a stereo setup- left and right, yet the software keeps asking me what speaker I plugged in and giving me loads of irrelevant options like side and rear. Both speakers are set to front speaker. I've tried reinstalling, but still no joy. Am I missing something?
