Realtek HD Audio Driver stops working when comp sleeps.

Hello, I recently got a set of 2.1 HiVi Swan M-10 speakers and hooked them up to my laptop until I can finish my build. When I first hooked them into my E55-A Toshiba Satellite the bass wasnt coming from the sub in fact it was combining into my L/R speakers making them sound terrible. A quick uninstall and reinstall of Realtek fixed that problem.

Alas, now the sound is great but every time I shut down my computer, or restart, or put in sleep, there is no sound at all. When I try to click adjust my levels I see the audio levels go up for the "ding" but nothing plays. I have found a workaround where I just need to disable then re-enable Realtek and the sound works again. Obviously I can do this every time but I really rather find a permanent solution.

This laptop has had problems before where the sound cuts out in a game and does not come back till a restart, but it wasn't until I hooked up my 2.1 system that the problem is expected every single time I start my computer from a rested state. I am using Realtek HD Audio driver version 6.0.1.6909 and my sound is integrated into my laptop's motherboard.

If anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it greatly!

    Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried the drivers on the Toshiba site? They are 2013-09-21 | Version: 6.0.1.7026 |

EDIT: There is also a new ACPI Flash BIOS listed. Don't know if it would have any effect on your problem.

Thanks good to be here! Yes that could definitely be the problem, I will try it now and report back.

Okay, so I installed 6.0.1.7026 and the old problem where the sound is mixed in the two L/R speakers is back and the sub is not generating any sound. This is probably why I had the old driver installed before but what could be causing this?

EDIT: I reinstalled the old drivers and the sub is back, so it has to a problem with the new driver. Perhaps I should just wait for them to release a new one and just use this old one for now?

Yea, sounds like you got some kind of hardware/software conflict going on. Wish I had a solution for you. About the only other thing I would try is delete it from Device Manager then reboot and let it re-install. Probably won't fix it though.
