    Audio Increasing on it's Own

    Hi Guys,

    First time posting in this forum but I've been a regular reader of this forum's contents.

    I have been having this issue lately where my volume automatically increases. I try to set at level 10-15 but windows automatically increases and when it reaches 100 the volume sign on the top left corner keeps showing, i.e., windows is still trying to increase the volume. I have tried every possible things to fix this but this keeps sticking. I have also selected do nothing in the communication tab.

    My system spec is:
    MSI Z97 GAMING 7 || Intel® Core™ i5-4690K (@ 4.4GHz) || Corsair H100i || EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC w/ ACX & Reference Cooling in SLI || G.Skill TridentX F3-2400C10D-16GTX (2 Kits) 4x8GB 2400MHz CL10 || Samsung 840 Pro 512GB x2 RAID0 || WD Caviar Black 1.5TB Docs & Storage || Corsair AX1200i || Coolermaster HAF-X Full Tower Case || Dell U3011 || Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Updates

    Please help!!

    As you have a separate sound card (the SoundBlaster) did you disable the on-board (on the motherboard) sound in the BIOS? If not, that is the first step. The on-board needs to be disabled to prevent any possible conflicts.

    Also, what is listed in the Device Manger, Sound section?

    Yes, fireberd!! I have the HD Audio disabled at the BIOS. Kinda used to disabling that settings now, coz I've had a discreet sound card for a while now!! Any other suggestions to fix this!!! And BTW, I have the latest creative drivers installed that was released recently by creative for windows 8.1. The drivers is XFTI_PCDRV_L11_2_40_0008.exe the drivers were released on Mar 7, 2014. Heres the link:
    Creative Worldwide Support > PCI Express X-Fi Titanium

    In in the device manager, after the driver installation it's listed as Creative X-Fi or something of that sort. It's also got the nvidia hd audio which I've disabled.

    The NVIDIA audio is for HDMI audio only, it won't interfere or cause problems with PC audio.

    Look at what programs you have running, that uses or can affect audio (e.g. Skype) as one of these could be causing the problem.
