Hello Eightforums.

Firstly, my problem is that my headset microphone is not working correctly. As my laptop (Lenovo g505s) only has 1 audio jack, but my headset has 2 cables (green and pink), i bought a 3.5mm headset splitter adapter that splits audio output to 3.5m headphone and 3.5 mic jack. Having plugged it in, I am getting both my internal microphone sounds along with my headset microphone sounds through my headset.

This is what my volume mixer looks like right now: http://i.gyazo.com/6adf9c6e8ddf0f894ce152afc1d7a9dc.png

I am unsure what how to proceed to fixing this issue.

Oh, it seems the problem got solved.

My solution i found on the internet was to go to device manager and then under sound, video and game controllers, i uninstalled the sound drivers. (in my case, AMD High Def Audio Device and Conexant Smart Audio HD)

After both were uninstalled, I restarted my laptop. Then on boot up, the small speaker on bottom right on the desktop has a little red circle on it. I troubleshooted the problem (right click speaker, top option) and it installed something (i assume both the 2 sound drivers I had just uninstalled, since i just checked device manager after it had finished installing and both my previous sound drivers were present). And it seems to work now.

I still don't entirely understand how it worked, but that was my solution. :D
