I have a recording studio (using Sonar X3). If I wanted the best audio for audio editing, recording, etc I would consider a USB connected "recording interface unit". Not any "PC Audio" (that includes SoundBlasters).

Beats Audio headphones do not get good reviews on recording forums.

Huh, integrated sound :roflmao:

Integrated sound cards are rubbish. If you want decent sound you need a dedicated sound card. Ausus are offering some good cards. There are also pro cards available but they are far too expensive and restricted in their use (no home cinema etc.) Creative cards are not bad as long as you don't mind possible driver problems (they are notorious for their bad driver quality). But no matter what you choose, don't go for the cheap card, if you do you can also stick to your motherboard's integrated sound chip. For top sound quality you will have to invest between 150 and 250 $ to get something decent, depending on your needs. Creative and Asus websites are a good place to start.

And? How does that in any way conflict with my statement that integrated sound chips are rubbish? Almost every modern pc/ laptop comes with integrated sound. This does not make it any better.

I would say to get better headphones then worry about your sound card... Say away from beats if your interested in making any kind of Music... Some proper Sennheiser or Audio-Technica headphones should sound a world of a difference.

I agree 100%. Stay away from those Beats if you are trying to edit music.

Well I think this thread is useless anyway. Anybody dared to look at the OP's profile? The system in question is a Mac. What's more even though the OP was asked multiple times what his current sound card was he has not answered so far. So, how should anybody be able to help?
