My control panel sounds option says that I don't have audio devices installed so

I tried troubleshooting it but it says :

after that then this.jpg

but my device manager says this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My computer also says I need to activate my windows. What is wrong with my PC?

First it says you have to activate windows because you changed the motherboard and it sees it as a new system. If thr on-line activation doesn't work you will need to call the phone activation.

Now for the sound. Start by deleting all the sound devices in device manager and reboot. What motherboard make/model? Never mind, see it in your specs.

EDIT: Your new board has a VIA audio chip from what I see, Not Nvidia. Do you have a separate sound card?

I did everything you said and now it works the way I want so thank you very much for that.

Now for the windows dilemma. How do I do "on-line activation". All I can see is phone activation. It's 1 am here and I'm pretty sure they don't answer calls this late. I'm from the Philippines and the according to their list of phone numbers there's only 1 Microsoft Centre for our country and I live pretty far away from it, can they still re-activate my account? Thanks in advance

Glad you got the sound going. You have 30 days to activate so plenty of time, The phone activation should work fine. It is automated and all you so is provide the key, then it rattles off a bunch of numbers for you to enter and activate. If that fails then you can get a person on the phone who will make it work.

Edit: Just realized should ask if you have retail or OEM 8.1. If OEM you may run into problems activating. Did you get the key out of the BIOS before changing boards?

Hmm. I dont know. I bought the motherboard at a Pc-express shop and I let their technicians put it back together. What key should have I taken from them?

When you originally bought the computer did you buy Windows 8 or did it come pre-installed? Do you have a disc?

Tried, didn't work. Thanks anyway. I'll just call them later in the decent hours. Thanks for you time :thumb:

Yea, short of a complete wipe and re-install, which it sounds like you don't want to do, a phone call is about all you have left.
Glad I could kind of help. :)
