I have decided to buy a new laptop. Lenovo g710 with w8.1. I am setting it up and got to the Skype test . the sound from my voice is very low. I can hardly hear it. Using the internal speaker and it is set to max. Anything else I should check on? Don't know my way around 8.1 very well so be explicit, please.

Hi,
Like What adamf said Some System's Come With "Pre-Installed" Sound Programs!
That Could Be your problem
If not go down to the task bar and on the left side where the speaker icon is right click then click recording and/or playback devices!
Make sure all of those are set properly!

Hoped This Helped!
