    windows 8 audio settings help

I have a toshiba satellite p75-a7200 with windows 8. When I hook up my logitech z 2300 speakers it sounds like crap. Logitech z 2300 speakers are very good speakers so this should not be happening. When I hook up my logitech z 2300 speakers to my iphone or my old dell laptop it sounds good like it should. So this makes me think that their is a Windows 8 setting that is messing up my speakers. What settings in Windows 8 do I need to change my make my speakers sound good?

How does the built in speakers sound? How does a headset sound? The Logitech speakers should sound the same.

The audio is handled the same as Vista and Windows 7.

I'm not sure how to respond to this. Why would you think Computer Speakers would sound the same as built in laptop speakers and headphones? Laptop speakers and headphones can't produce good highs and lows like Computer Speakers can. Have you not seen the specs?

The built in speakers sound like built in speakers. I don't have any headphones.

I realize built in Laptop speakers are poor, but what I was getting at do they sound about the same as the external speakers or do they sound relatively OK?

The external speakers in most laptops plug into the same jack as the headphones. That is why I asked about headphones.

I've looked at the specs for the old Z2300's.

Does the Toshiba come with any audio enhancements? e.g. Dolby, SoundBlaster MB audio, etc? I have a Lenovo and it has Dolby enhancement, Dell used the SoundBlaster MB for many of their systems.

Do you use any kind of equalizer (dedicated software or built into the player of your choice? Does disabling the equalizer change the sound quality? What software do you use to play your music? Are there more than one outputs (e.g. one for speakers and one for headphones)? I think in order to support you we need more info.
