I tried to play songs in windows media player but it showed some error. Then i switched to VLC just to find out that there is some problem with the sound. When I clicked on the volume icon to see if the volume levels are ok, I found the computer icon, which appears there to be like as if there is a bug sitting on the computer. I don't know much about it. Can anybody plz help me out with it?

Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for your sound and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. This will fix any Windows corruption (usually the problem).
