    HDMI No sound

Hi, for the first time ever I'm trying to connect my laptop to my TV via a HDMI cable, everything works fine apart from the sound, it's being played via the laptop for some reason.

I went on the sound options on device manager, the "Digital Audio (HDMI)" option says "not plugged in" therefore I can't enable it to play it through the TV. I've also tried to change the projection to "projector only", no luck.

I went onto "device manager" every one of my drivers seem updated, apart from a single one which I don't even think is currently downloaded. I try to use the "update" button however it can't find the driver online. I don't know which driver it is therefore I can't download it manually either.

My laptop is a "HP Pavilion g6" and TV is a Philip, not sure of the exact model however. I've left some screenshots below to help you geniuses with assisting me!

I figured it's a "Realtek" device, but not sure which one

    Please help!

Check if you have Intel Chipset Drivers installed.
    Open registry and under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\InfInst
The latest version should be: 10.0.13
If it is missing then download and install the drivers. Intel Chipset Drivers should install any missing drivers for the built in devices on the MB such as USB, HDMI etc... and hopefully the yellow exclamation mark will disappear.

Hi, when I checked it was one version 9 something, I updated it however the missing mark is still there, here's a screenshot:

When I run the Intel driver update utility here's what the results are:

You might also want to check if you have the latest BIOS firmware.

It looks too hard to update but I can say that my laptop is always updated when it needs an update.

Understood. It's a little scary for most people when dealing with BIOS update. However, we are in the process of eliminating the problem and often the BIOS update is neccessary to correct some of the problems with built in devices.

Hey, good to hear it's working. So you did not restart after updating the Chipset Drivers ?
