Logitec 960 USB Headset

Please could you help? If I unplug my headphones and plug them back in again the sound continues to come through the speakers and not the headset.The only way I can resolve it is to restart Firefox. I have posted in the Logitech support forum but no one replied. Thank you

Does the Logitech headphone appear as a device in the "Safely Remove Hardware" function (Icon in notification area in the desktop)? If it does, you must use that to "remove" the headphones before you disconnect them or there can be a Windows status corruption and they will not work the next time you connect them.

I'm not sure but the icon doesn't seem to be in the notifications area.
