When I boot the sound volume is whatever I left it when I shut it down last time. I want to reset it to 20 each time I boot. Is that possible?

I'm not sure it's possible within windows itself...there may be a program/script that you can run on boot up or shutdown that resets the volume to a set level.

Looking around , there is something called Autohotkey with a Soundset option that changes the volume...suggested by techguy.org here...

Autohotkey MAY work, but it would have to be in the startup. However, it would have to load after the sound driver loads and when the sound driver first loads the sound would be at the volume it was when shut down, thus the startup sound will be loud and autohotkey won't help you on bootup.

I was thinking more out of the box, run it on logoff to whatever level he wants , when he restarts the PC the setting will revert to that level.

I was already using Autohotkey, so just added this script in my startup folder, which works fine:
Code:
[/COLOR]SoundSet, 20[COLOR=#333333]
[/COLOR]
return[COLOR=#333333]

thanks
