Windows 8 DVD question

How can I transfer a personal DVD film to my PC with Windows 8
or
directly to Windows Movie Maker?

My security program said you, Master Chief, are a very bad entity...a most maliciously vile thingy and should (and were) be blocked.

Time to uninstall that security software and rely on something else.
