    8.1 sound problems

Updated to 8.1 and had the dolby problem like everyone. I am not that good with these new fangled machines but how do I fix this problem. The sound is now terrible and I have it all the way to the top and can barely hear anything. Is there a fix that is available or do I need to go back to regular 8 and if so how do I do that. Thanks.
    Is a Lenovo laptop.

    welcome to the forums mate.

First off, you'll need to let us know what kind of laptop you have (so we can direct you to the correct driver). You may need to simply update the drivers for it, to the newest 8.1 audio drivers. Check windows update for any other fixes - that may also help.

    Is a Lenovo laptop.
If you provide your Lenovo specific make/model number, someone can help you find the correct drivers.

I think it is related to the dolby problem as I still get that message when I start up in the morning or after restart. I found the dolby program in the programs list and tried "repair" a few times but it didn't help.

All righty, that's perfect. This is the audio driver for your Lenovo G580 computer (clicking the link will ask to download the driver): http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/...s/au200w81.exe

it is for the Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 8.1(32-bit OR 64-bit) - IdeaPad G480 lenovo

You're welcome. Did it work? Any more problems?

You may need to update all the drivers (because down the road they all might give you problems). Lenovo makes spotting the correct driver very difficult. You might see if you can go to the support page of the Lenovo website and download a driver detection tool, if the offer it.
