Dolby Advanced Audio Problem after 8.1

I upgraded today to 8.1 and now when I start my computer I get a message box telling me <re-install Dolby advanced audio driver> I found the Dolby program in my control panel, programs and features, and there is no un-installer or, seemingly a way to re-install the driver. I don't want this box popping up at every boot, what do I do?

I don't have Dolby specific setup, but you might want to check your device manager directly to see if a driver for Dolby appears under the expanded menu as shown below. If so, you can select "update driver" and have it automatically search Window Update or use the latest driver (if you have it handy). I would personally prefer the latter option if available. Good luck.

You re-install the driver by going to your motherboards website and downloading a new version of the driver and installing it.

Lenovo G780 - on windows 8.1 problem is the same. After recovery function Dolby advanc.. v2 run´s normal.
After removing driver, restart, installing new driver, restart, still the same :geek:
Purpose, it´s the Windows 8 version 8.1. The 8.1 is not possible running the Dolby....v2.
Maybe after buying the soft, i do ( apologize myself :zip: ) think the Dolby soft will not run.
I see the problem in software disfuncionality somewhere in Win 8.1.
Still it has nice colored boxe´s eh?

Finaly here we have the solving problem solution:

You must uninstall your current audio driver and replace with the newest driver. Beware who the manufacture is.

In my case i have the Conexant audio HD driver.

Do not forget to uninstall the Dolby software too.

In my case i have Dolby Advanced Audio V2.

then go to : http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031753 , that´s the Conexant,
and : http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032125 , that´s the Dolby soft.

Download them.

In simple step´s:

1. Uninstall the audio driver ( in device manager search for audio driver - look after the speaker icon ) :geek:
DO NOT Uninstall the the speaker driver - it is difference, because ( in my case I have ) there are 2 driver´s
making the basic audio work. First is the audio driver for software solution, and speaker driver for speaker solution

Maybe some PC´s have one or two drivers for the audio. btw.

2. Restart
3. Uninstall the Dolby Adv....
4. Restart
5. Install the new Conexant audio driver from web above
6. Restart
7. Install the Dolby Adv.... driver from web above
8. Restart
9. Enjoy

For those who are live sensitive from detail´s : the joke

Windows 8 has writen that the version of Conexant has no need to upgrade the driver ( 8.54.44.52 ) on the support site is version 8.54.48.0 ( hint )

In the downloaded zip file, find PCEE4 folder, you have the installers in it for Dolby Home Theatre and Dolby Advanced Audio v2.

I have a lenovo ideapad flex 15 and i have managed to install Dolby advanced audio v2 but it will not process the sound, the software doesn't work. This is a replacement laptop and my previous laptop had advanced audio v2 and worked, but that was preinstalled. This laptop did not have it preinstalled when i received it but i found it in the d drive which contained the drivers. I installed it and now i have this problem. I apologize if this in the wrong thread as i am new to the forum scene.

Any help is much appreciated.

I had to also use the Realtek drivers provided by Acer to make mine work on V3 model. Could not use any updated drivers from Realtek.

Here's what worked for me....you have to run the compatibility settings to run like Win7. (8.1) Type "mad" without quotes from start page to search...the first hit is -Run programs for previous versions of windows. run wizard for Dolby profile and Demo. Or any other way you can get to it, I'm sure there's more than one. Now I did this even after making sure I did have the conextant driver installed and tried to reinstall Dolby advanced audio v.2 and getting error at startup saying it couldn't start program.
