Corsair Vengeance 1500 Audio Too Loud

    Hi everyone,
Recently I made a post on the BSOD subforum in regards to recent BSODs I've been having.
After investigation, it seems that it was my Corsair Vengeance 1500 headset drivers. I've since uninstalled the drivers and I've experience no more problems. I hope they make drivers that work for windows 8 properly.

HOWEVER, the problem is that now with the basic windows drivers, the volume is way too loud! Before, with the Corsair drivers, I could listen to something at 50% volume and it would sound fine. Now, 2% volume is equivalent to that 50% volume I heard before. I hope that makes sense.

My question is that if there is any way for me to change the volume/driver settings so I could have more normalized audio? Anything past 10% blows my ears out and it's really annoying for obvious reasons.

    Thanks in advance!

No "My System Specs". We have no idea what sound you have and can't specifically comment to help you.

However, one general issue. You should have the correct sound driver (preferred driver is the one supplied by the PC vendor (or motherboard vendor in the case of a custom built). If you only have the generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec, the proper driver is the first step.

    What specs do you need?
Here are some screenshots of the specs of my computer and sound stuff:

Here's a screenshot of the driver details in Device Manager:

I'm not sure what you may need so let me know.

The Headset is a USB headset, so it uses the USB audio drivers on windows. The Drivers provided by the manufacturer (Corsair) on the website causes blue screens for my laptop so I can't use those.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

Look at what I have listed in "My System Specs", that is what is normally posted.

The DXDiag shows RealTek, but then it shows "HD Audio" so I'm not sure what is set as the default or what you have.

I have RealTek and here is what I have in the Device Manager and the Sound Playback Panel. I also have a recording studio device listed in the Device Manager and my HDMI audio sound. In the Sound Playback Panel, it shows the RealTek (Speakers) are set as default playback.

If you only show the RealTek and possibly HDMI audio in the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the RealTek to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. If there were some type of corruption in Windows that will fix it and maybe the volume level.

Since my computer is a laptop, I use both the laptop speakers and headset interchangeably. I do this by switching between the default devices. I use the headset when im gaming, on Skype, etc and I'll use the speakers when I'm with my roommate/have friends over.
For example, right now I'm on my speakers:

This is what my Device Manager looks like:

The sound levels for both of them are different. That is, there is a separate volume for the speakers and a separate volume for the headset, as shown here:

The left are my speakers, the right is my headset.

In this case, should I uninstall the Headset instead of the Realtek?

I hope this gives you more information to work with. If not let me know what else I need to provide.

    Thanks in advance.

You have to resolve one problem at a time. You originally said you were having problems, since uninstalling the Corsair headset drivers that the volume was too loud. That is first problem to resolve before you do anything with the headset. Uninstall the headset so you only have the PC sound (RealTek). Start from that point.
