Hi. I noticed there's not too much in sound schemes for 8. Another way MS is cutting back on personalization?

I found this on 7F. It might get you started in the right direction.

Possible To Import Vista Sound Scheme Into W7? - Windows 7 Help Forums

If you notice there's a lot of empty folders in C:\Windows\Media.

Please let me know if you find a solution. As much as I'd like to "Tinker" with this, I just don't have the time.

The sound files are in almost the same place as in win7 so you can copy them from some computer running win7 in the C:\Users\"Your name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Themes\WINDOWS 8 (this last, name of theme you are using.
Other way would be to copy win7 sound files to a folder on your disk and use "Browse" for each sound to guide it to it. Those sounds are just *.wav files, you could even make or use your own.

Ah, yes. The convenience of dual booting! Copy from one partition or drive to another. :)

I would think to make your own subfolder under "Themes" to navigate to in Sounds as CountMike explained. That should work.

I copied them from a win7pro system to a flash drive and populated all the empty folders in win8.1 .. it didn't care. I've restarted and while the files remain in the folders at least, the sound schemes have not appeared on the pull-down selection. Maybe someone's saved out the windows7 registry set for them ..that we could get and integrate?
