I have a blue snowball that use to be working but when i changed motherboards it now does not work.
I have tried refreshing my computer but it still does not work. I have tried to reinstall the realtek hd audio but nope.
I have tried looking in the sound/recording tab but it does not show up.
I have no idea what is wrong. The computer detects it and shows the driver in device manager, and shows it in devices and printers, but i do not know what is wrong.
Thanks in advance

A corruption between the device (hardware) and Windows could cause this.

Connect the mic, go to the Device Manager and uninstall the mic in the Device Manager. Disconnect the mic and then restart the PC. After Windows starts, connect the mic and Windows should reinstall it. This MAY fix the problem.

When I try to uninstall the driver it asks me to confirm the uninstall, i confirm it, then it says its trying to uninstall, but it takes forever and never finishes. Any thoughts?

Install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers and then the RealTek drivers from the MSI downloads for your motherboard.

The chipset drivers MAY also take care of the USB mic problem.

I had just updated my drivers from the msi live update 5 program. I will reinstall the drivers anyway but do you know if those come directly from msi or from realtek and intel?

I can't say. Some vendors have custom drivers and some just pass on the drivers. applicable to their hardware, from the individual hardware vendors.

Did you go to Control panel/sound and make it default input device ?
