Sound Popping/Crackling

If you've updated the Realtek driver from Realtek, uninstall it and try using the driver on the ASUS site.

The Video drivers was one of my first noted potential causes.

Have you updated the drivers and did it fix it?

The problem isn't behind the audio drivers as the popping occurs with and without the Realtek drivers. It also still happens when I install an actual soundcard. Nvidia graphics isn't the problem since I stripped (and fresh installed windows) my case from everything but CPU+ssd+ram and the popping is still there.
This is super fustrating. I have been trying to fix it during the last 12hours and right now I am checking all the cables inside the case.

Go to your Playback devices, Speakers, Properties, Enhancements, and make sure everything on the page is unchecked, and then check the option to disable all effects.

I already tried that like 25 times XD. Like I said, the problem isn't behind the audio.

I am starting to think it is the power supply, I can't even get the computer on!

All right, so my computer isn't turning on anymore. I am guessing (and hoping) this has to do with the popping. The power supply is not faulty as I have tried another one and it did not turn on. Is there a way to determine if my motherboard is faulty? The 5volt LED goes on but nothing happens when I press the on/off button of the case (I have also tried the screwdriver on mobo method).

Did you try jumping pin 14 (green) to a black ground wire on the 24 pin power connector? That should turn on the power supply and if that works, either something wrong with the front panel power switch, its not connected properly or a motherboard problem.

I'll try this in a bit. So if it's not the power supply and the power switch, is it the motherboard for sure?

Did you connect both power supply connections to the motherboard? The 24 pin and the 4 (or 8) pin power connectors? and the PCIe power connection to the video card?

There can be other possibilities, such as a bad CPU, but if the power supply turns on by jumpering pin 14 to ground and the PC works, it only leaves the power switch (and connection to the motherboard) and the logic on the motherboard.
