I use Windows 7 for my home theater PC. I'd like to know if Windows 8 can output simultaneously analog and digital audio. I like to listen to Rhapsody via HDMI on my main speakers. I also want to listen to Rhapsody via analog on my Zone 2 speakers. I don't want to be able to listen to both at the same time but rather to be able to switch between the two more easily. With Windows 7, switching from digital to analog requires getting into Control Panel and changing the default source every time. I understand XP could do this but 7 cannot. I have an HDMI cable and a red/white cable for analog running from the computer to the receiver.
Thanks in advance.
Jim

Another possible solution is Virtual Audio Cables, available here Virtual Audio Cable Home Page

It is SUPER fiddly, but once you get it configured exactly right you shouldnt need to touch it
