I'm using a windows 8 pavilion g7 laptop. Long story short, I wanted to have realtek HD audio on my computer mainly for the cool audio effects that come with it because the audio drivers that came with my computer don't have those effects. Nonetheless, I installed realtek HD audio hoping it would install and i could simply change the audio settings to use realtek instead of the ones on my computer. once the installation was complete and after i rebooted and everything, I couldn't find the driver for realtek. So i went into sound, video, and game controllers under device manager and didn't find the realtek driver listed. only the two audio drivers that came with my computer. The two audio drivers that came with my computer are as follows: AMD high definition audio device and IDT high definition audio device CODEC. I tried to uninstall them and just reboot but my computer ended up automatically reinstalling those devices anyway. I don't get it. It's like my computer can't recognize the realtek driver or something. At this point I'm not even sure if my computer will allow that kind of audio device. PLEASE HELP!
