2.5mm - 3.5mm adapter

I thought I was getting a good deal. 2 xbox headsets for $8 w/free s&h
Then the rub. They only have one 2.5mm male . Instead of two. One for sound and the other for microphone.

Basically it is one line headset to plug with inline volume control & mic mute. 2.5mm male w/ 2 black rings.

for $64,000 ...
if I buy a 2.5mm - 3.5mm adapter, will I be able to use these xbox headsets on my computer
would I plug it into line out or mic? or would I only be able to get one at a time instead of sound & voice together?

I believe you would but with no mute capability..

If it doesnt work then try a 3.5 to 2.5mm adapter MONO (only one black ring)

There are also splitters that turn a stereo (2 black rings) plug into 2 mono (1 black ring each)

I dont have an Xbox so i dont know the config, but I do know audio connectors....

as previous posters say there are plenty of Y type adapters for splitting the audio cable into L/R channels -- you can get all sorts of M/F and F/M adapters too so any config is possible.

I don't know the XBOX configuration either but I'm sure it must have stereo sound capability surely in 21st cent. You'd want presumably the voice into the microphone jack and the audio into the line / aux connector.
