On my new lap top with Windows 8 I do not seem to have audio. Must I download something?

Not enough information provided. Did you contact the manufacturer support for this new laptop? Why not just take it back to the store for exchange if its that new?

On my new lap top with Windows 8 I do not seem to have audio. Must I download something?
check to make sure the sound is not muted, look for a small speaker icon is there a red X ,in the area by the clock ,lower right corner,click on the speaker icon and check it out ,it maybe muted or even just turned all the way down
