Audio very low

Hello,

As seen in the title, my audio in windows 8 is like 15 % of what it would normally be. Tried all sorts of fixes (also on this forum), reinstalled drivers and such. Nothing helped (and yes, the audio slider in the right hand corner is all the way up).

I use a Tritton 5.1 headset, stereo mode. This has worked fine for more than 9 months now. But a week ago my sound was suddenly lower, so I put my headset volume a bit higher. The next day, the sound was lower again, but now I can't slide my headset volume higher... The weird thing is, when I use my Logitech 2.0 speakers nothing is wrong with the sound, it's just 100%.

Hope you guys are able to help me, because gaming with my speakers on all the time, doesn't work for me.

Bye,

Guardiann.

You can test the headphone jack by plugging in the Logitech speakers into the headphone jack (I assume the speakers have a 3.5mm plug). Or you can plug the headphones into the GREEN speaker jack on the rear of the PC to see if the headphone audio is OK or low, that will tell you if the headphone is the problem and not the PC.,

Ok, so I did this, and the logitech speakers have normal audio in the jack I use for my headphone(the rear one). Also, I tested the headphone in the jack where I had my speakers plugged in (the front one), still the volume is really low.

So, the conclusion is that my headset is the problem? And if so, it somehow randomly broke?

Headphones will go bad, just like other electronic parts. If they are still under warranty contact the manufacturer.
