    Front panel no left sound

    Hello,

I've got an Z77 Pro3 mobo (Asrock) and a Bitfenix Shinobi case. I've installed the HD-audio plug from the case to the motherboards hd-audio place correctly.

My problem is that the case's front panel gives sounds only to my headsets right side but not to the left side. The microphone jack on the front panel works perfectly and my speakers, which are connected to the mobo's jacks, work perfectly. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers but that doesn't help.

What can I do? I don't understand how the jack can give audio only to the right side of the headset... (Headset is 100% working)

Check the HD audio plug that is connected to the motherboard to make sure its fully seated. If that is OK, the problem is either in the cable or the front panel assembly in the case. If you have an AC97 connector, use that instead of the HD Audio connector for the motherboard and see if that makes a difference. If there is no difference, the problem is most likely in the front panel assembly. There is a chance its the motherboard but 99% the front panel.

I've checked out that the cables are well connected, I'm using the HD-audio cable which is connected to the hd-audio pins. I've also tried out AC'97 but neither works...

How can the front panel assembly be wrong? How can I check it out?

I've had bad front panel assemblies in new cases. I had one that had two USB ports but only one worked. I had another that the connector for the cables from the motherboard was not installed correctly.

You will have to take the front panel off to inspect it to see if there is anything physically wrong. It will take an ohmmeter and some electronics knowledge to further troubleshoot.
