Sound On Windows 8 Sounds Better Than On Windows 7

I've noticed the sound is a lot louder & clearer on my computer running Windows 8 -- using the Windows 7 SoundMAX driver -- than it is on Windows 7, anyone have any idea why that may be..?!

I haven't noticed any difference between 7 and 8. I've got one PC with dual boot 7 and 8 and another PC with 8 only and a laptop with 7 only.

Maybe the SoundMAX driver you have on 8 is different version than you had installed on 7?

Nope, it's the same one I use on 7, because there are no SoundMAX drivers for the card I have for Win8 -- because ASUS, etc. do not make any updates for this card anymore -- so I installed the Win7 driver.

Anyways, I am having a tonne of issues that started yesterday -- may have started before that -- with Win8, so I am going back to Win7 for a while, after I finish watching two movies, then the wipe & reinstall begins.

I noticed the same thing with my Auzentech Forte. I'm hearing some additional detail in the songs I'm listening to, which is fantastic.

Are you using the p5e motherboard with the supremefx ii soundcard? If so, please tell me how you got the drivers to work in windows 8?
