Firstly I hope this is the appropriate forum for this.
I installed Windows 8 earlier this evening and to my horror the names of some metro style apps automatically translated themselves to my native language. Please note that only the names were translated while everything within the apps was still in English, my native language being a minor one.
My problem was that the localization settings are very bizzarre, I still have not managed to solve this but I have tried to by changing the default to English(U.S) and then setting input and date time settings manually.
Out of pure frustration with the names I uninstalled the offending apps, except for weather, and found a medium to vent my annoyance. The greatest offender was without doubt news, which only offered U.S. news while pretending to be 'localized'.
