Fwiw. I am just trying Acronis 2013. (Try and Decide) Runs perfectly in Windows 8. It is much simplified in operation from the previous versions

I never took to Acronis, not a fan of the intrusivenes and use of boot time drivers.

Lot of people seem to like it- and I think it is the only one with try and decide.

Both Macrium and Paragon are more to my taste - portable, unintrusive and and faster than Acronis.

Upgraded Acronis to 2013 version. "Runs perfectly in Windows 8" ... and the installer only put 1 tile on the start screen!

I have Acronis 2102 running on my Win7 portion of my dual-boot Win7/Win8 PC. I'll try to see if Acronis runs properly under Win8 this week... I'll report back here with my results.

As I discovered this week, while it will BACK UP the server products, it will NOT restore them. That was a bummer to find out. Oh well, Macrium Reflect Free can do server products.

I installed Acronis True Image Home 2013 (ATIH) last night and there were no problems at all. I'll test the backup/restore capabilities this weekend and report back. One icon on the Windows 8 screen and all appears well...

Yeah, I downloaded the trial of Acronis True Image 2013 and am going to play around a bit with it. I logged into the Acronis website and it's only a $29 upgrade fee from my 2010 version. I might be willing to finally upgrade it this year.

I believe that one of the "enhancements" made to the new version (2013) of the product is the Windows 8 compatibility...

What version did Acronis start requiring Internet activation? I've been a paying customer of Acronis 2010 and I do use it on a couple of my home personal computers for testing and 1 is my real workstation, but during the eval of the 2013 product, i see that you have to activate the product now over the Internet.

Unsure if I want to buy 3-5 copies of Acronis, or whether I will just flip over to Macrium Reflect free at this point for my home needs.

This weekend will see the deployment of Windows 8.1. In preparation I have updated all my drivers and such. I intend to keep ATI 2013 as long as possible because it has always been a difficult piece of software to upgrade. From what I've been able to read up until now (just days before the...
I am just reading in one of my German feeds that there is a problem with Acronis True Image 2013 Build 6514 under Windows 8. The problem is supposed to be fixed with KB 45144 which is available from the Acronis Knowledge base.
Thanks to Windows 8.1 update going belly up, and of course removing all recovery points, I was forced to recover my system. I did this from my Acronis True Image Nonstop Backup but after the recovery the system would not boot. Hung in the boot process for more than 30 minutes before I turned it...
