CCleaner free alternative with NO NAGS?

I've used the free version of CCleaner to clean my registries for years, but this past 2 years they've been nagging more and more to buy the newest version.

Is there an alternative to CCleaner that's free, does a good job of registry cleaning, and has NO NAGS?

There are several good choices out there, like buying cars, one has to check out the "look and feel"/operations and pick one or two. Just to name two of many: Auslogics & Wise, after custom or advanced install, registry cleaners (do not use the other functions) have worked for me for years. If/when you clean the registry, be careful, be cautious, lest you end up reaching for the Windows install DVD or the backups.

Well CCleaner has never messed things up with that. Are these others as safe?

I agree with you about other functions. I used the PC cleanup function of CCleaner once and lost my browser cache, which was a real pain when I had to re-input all kinds of things at various sites.

The only "nags" I receive from any Piriform free applications is a suggestion to update to the latest version when you load the program for use - this is a good idea as things are continually being improved.

If the "Nags" are a problem then there should be an option to " automatically check for new version " or similar in the settings - I'm sure there used to be an option to stop these update notifications in the actual pop-up message but not sure this still shows

I keep getting nags that an update is available, only to find it's the paid version.
