False "SUCCESS" Message for Java Update

Got a problem that may involve Windows-8 settings. Would appreciate advice.

A popup window tells me,
Java update available
A new version of Java is ready to be installed.

When I click there, I soon get a command-line window with the following data:
SUCCESS: The file (or folder): "C:\Users\DenTV\AppData\Local\Temp\jre-8u121-windows-au.exe" now owned by user "BIGWRT\DenTV".
processed file: C:\Users\DenTV\AppData\Local\Temp\jre-8u121-windows-au.exe
Successfully processed 1 files; Failed processing 0 files
Press any key to continue . . .

I press a key (Space) and the command window goes away. Good enough, right? -- except the next day I get the original popup back. Apparently the "new version of Java" was never installed.

I've seen this "SUCCESS" window before, after failing to install other applications, and got around it by using the Task Manager to run the install as an administrative task. However, what do I run to install a new Java version?

Thanks for your attention.

I go to a site that watches for those updates and install it manually.

A good one is Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once

Automatic updaters are usually a pita. They either want to run a service or sit in the tray and get on the network every time you log on. It is just simpler to download the update and double click the installer.

Okay, I downloaded Ninite. When run, it of course got another false "SUCCESS" message!

This time, however, I reran Ninite under the task manager with administrative privileges and it claimed to have installed "Java 8," which I hope is the same as the Java update previously specified. I'll wait a day or two and see if the update install prompt reappears.

Thank you for the info.
