Anyone using Windows System Control Center (WSCC) ?

I just wonder why I see new releases of programs by NirSoft and SysInternals but when I check for updates in WSCC it only showed new utilities available once after installation.

Seems weird. They do not have a dedicated forum on their web site or I would ask there.

I am using it "for private non commercial use only" so I cannot file a support request.

I've always loaded WSCC on every machine I use - Lately I've not used it as much but just went through running it after a while ...

For some reason it showed a number of updates but all the Sysinternals apps failed to install with an Incorrect Update version message - The Nirsoft stuff updated without issue - I then noticed that there was an update to the WSCC - I updated this and it then found three "New" apps and updated the Sysinternals without issues.

I think you need to always update the actual WSCC itself to get the new Applets shown

Hmm, it says I have the latest version. I am running it As Administrator. I tried running it normally. Same thing. Most strange.

mine is shown as Latest it's shown as 2.5.1.0 (portable)

I always use the portable edition as it can be used anywhere from a USB

I have 3.1.1.1 installed. I installed it avoiding the Program Files tree so that I don't have to run it as admin. I also tried the version you have. I am not sure what is going on. Perhaps the firewall in the WiFi here blocks some stuff but lets it through during installs? I don't know. All I know is protecting the Program Files folders is a pita since older software no longer developed does not know of the issue. No biggie as long as you can change the install destination.

All I know is that a few Anti-Malware / AntiVirus suites dislike a lot of the Sysintenals and especially Nirsoft applets.

They do some "potentially dangerous" things.

I just mark them as safe and the AM / AV ignores them

It seems the only sure way to update when I see a new version of NirLauncher is just to delete its subfolder. Then I hit the Install Button.
