Hi. I'm new so tell me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm not too educated about computers. I have Win 8.1 and I have no idea what I did but I have no pictures of files: Music, Pictures, Videos, Documents in File Explorer. Under each individual item I have a description but it is totally blank over that description. If I click above the description the picture, etc., comes up fine. This is too bizarre. Again, I have no idea what I did to make this happen. I have no other icons missing on my computer. When I found it I felt that I had done too much new stuff to justify a system restore. I'm working with Classic Shell, if that matters.
I use to know how to take a picture of my screen, which may help you, but I forgot how. I tried software that took me to the C: prompt and was supposed to wipe out all my icons and thumbnails and replace them. It was called AB something. It didn't work at all.
Thanks for bearing with a semi-novice. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
