Gadget: Shutdown, Restart, Hibernate and Alarm

Lots of discussion about lack of a quickly accessible shutdown, restart links in std W8 desktop.
I am aware you can create shortcuts, pin to task-bar , install shells etc.
I wanted a more simple solution (IMHO) , therefore I have created this gadget to use less space and clutter.
If you wish to give it a try: Download, unzip alarm.gadget to desktop
Select, Right click and then install. (do not use open will just unzip the gadget again
as .gadgets are only zipped up collections of files/folders).

Toying with the idea of creating a similar one with just 12 shortcuts
but not having played with W8 enough I am not sure which would be really useful
    Any suggestions welcome

Thank you for the share. So far, i'm getting use to W8 interface with the side bar menu.
I've been experiencing a different look in the years to come.
My W7 is stand by for the moment.

I am under the impression that both method uses same amount of power in terms of power saving feature. Hibernating makes it quicker to load windows instead of full boot up from shutdown but hibernating the system can also cause errors. Thus, the slow down and reboot. What would you recommend?
