There is an time & attendence software installed in the company. It's an old version of Kelio 4.something (Bodet UK - Time & Attendance Software as a Service | Kelio on Demand Express) its installed on an old PC with Windows XP. The PC is used only for this software. Supposedly this software isn't able to run on machines with newer OS. My question is is there a way to run this software on new machine with windows 8? Is it possible to use some kind of emulator to make it run on new machines ?

It's one of those bits of specialist software that there will not be much knowledge about, I have some vague recollection of installing it many years ago when I was in industry but nothing that would be any use now.

Your best option is try to install it on a new machine and see what problems show - will it install normally, if not will it install in compatibility mode etc and then take it from there.

Quite possible, for me I'd try Hyper-v first assuming the version of Windows you are using had it.

Getting it working should be quite possible but it will be a trial and error thing.

If you can find a new machine with Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate then you can download and install XP Mode which is a fully licensed copy of Windows XP Pro running in a VM. MS provided XP Mode in Windows 7 specifically to deal with software that required Windows XP.

MS didn't include XP Mode in Win 8 or Win 10. If you go with Windows 8, make sure you get Win 8 Pro which will allow you to use Hyper-V. In order to create a virtual machine using Hyper-V (or any other VM software) you will need a licensed copy of Win XP.
