The version of Acronis True Image I used installed low level disk drivers which were a real pain to remove - see Safe Removal of Acronis True Image Drivers

I've used Paragon Backup but I'm now using Macrium Reflect Free. I recently used it to move the OS from a HDD to a SSD and it was really easy to do. Reflect is now my solution for disk imaging and backup. Note you can mount a Reflect image as a drive and recover any individual file. You can easily schedule full, differential or incremental backups plus it's free.

Hello! I've bought an ASUS Transformer Book T100TAM tablet/laptop which has Windows 8.1 preinstalled. First thing I did was create a full system image of the whole eMMC (integrated memory card, serves as a hard drive for the Transformer). That is the OS partition (C:) and four other (UEFI,...
I have 2 Dell laptops, bought at the same time, both same spec running Win 8.1. After several failed attempts and lots of forum browsing I finally managed to create a System Image on one laptop, using Macrium Reflect Free edition with the latest update. So I wanted to also do this on the...
Seems the fly in the ointment for sticking an image on the Macrium Reflect Boot Rescue USB is that they want the USB to be FAT32. The 4 GB file size limit is a killjoy. Has anyone got around it? Right now I have backup images on another partition of my HD. But if partitions got badly hosed I...
Hello, I have a question about Macrium Reflect Free, and dual boot... I have two installations of Windows 8 (and Windows 8.1), on two separate SSDs. Let's call one SYSTEM1, and the other one SYSTEM2. Let's say I have booted inside the SYSTEM1 Windows installation. Now I want to backup...
Macrium Reflect Free BSODS in Software and Apps
W8CP 32bit in VMPlayer. Macrium Free installs correctly and apparently does an image of system and c correctly but when you reboot you get a BSOD. Page fault in a non paged area. The system reboots and tries again. Fails with the same BSOD then reboots into system recovery and recovers to an...
