    Windows Media Player - NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!

    Hey all,

    I am trying to run WMP on my new laptop, but when I go to Search to look for it, nothing shows up. It's not even listed in the Apps list. I then thought that maybe Sager sent me a laptop with an N or KN version of Windows, so I tried downloading the Media Feature Pack for my 64-bit Windows 8.1, but when I tried installing it, it said it's not compatible with my system.

    So am I completely unable to get WMP? I thought it was supposed to be included with Windows...

    go to programs and features
    click windows features
    see if media player is an option

    Thank you very much. I have never done that in Windows before... I always figured the files would show in Search even if the feature was disabled. Very strange. Thanks again.

Along with all the other things, that don't seem to work in the Windows 8.1 beta, I noticed that the Media Player is also missing, while they did only say Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center Beta. Are they planning on totally removing Media Player also?

From Start, I can get WMP and if I have a cd in the drive it will play the cd. When I try to copy the files to the My Music folder. I get an error message. I am not sure if WMP is installed with Windows 8 or is it an add on?
