Hi all, I'm trying to disable acrotray.exe from constantly running in the background. I disabled it in msconfig/startup tab, and I checked scheduled tasks and services and there's nothing associated with this task, and yet it keeps showing active in the background. Sure, I can terminate it using Task Manager, but it will pop up again. I can also rename it to say acrotray.bak but I don't think this is a neat solution. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? Apparently it's used for PDF conversion in Acrobat from other formats (Word, Excel, html, etc), but I don't need this functionality. I googled and couldn't find any solution either. Thanks for any hints.

Have you tried running the Acrobat PDF program and find the setting for not having an icon in the Notification Tray?

If there is no such setting, perhaps the alternative is an uninstall and find another program. BTW, acrotray.exe doesn't really take up any resource. If it's using CPU, I would be leery.
