If you used a data recovery program once you should have learned that the best way to ensure access to your data is to maintain backups. Even the very best recovery programs will not always be able to recover your data.

All files of any importance should have at least 1 backup copy while those of particular importance require 2 or more backup copies. Having no backups is asking for trouble. Sooner or later a recovery program will fail you and you will loose important files.

I know this doesn't help now but hopefully it will help somebody in the future.

I am going to backup everything twice now.. I ordered another 4 terabyte Seagate from amazon..

but for now can you recommend the most efficient data recovery program?

7-data/Stellar Recovery/Recuva/GetDataBack/ etc.. even Testdisk maybe? but i've been away for 5 months and wonder what's been updated/come out recently that actually can handle recovering 4 terabyte drives..

Yeah those seem to be the most talked about recovery programs..

whats funny though is that those two programs didn't show my files names and directories..

the only program that did was called OnTrackEasyRecovery.. how about them apples..

(and I think I couldn't use the files though haha)
