Hello,
I have Windows 8.1 and the Windows Store no longer opens. Additionally, many of the built-in apps (Sports, Travel, News, Photos, Facebook, etc) will not load from the Windows Tile screen. I've tried running the Windows Troubleshooter suggestion per Brink's reply from Apr 09, 2013 (,http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/21051-apps-tiles-not-working-responding-fix-windows-8-a.html) to no avail. Opening WIndows Troubleshooter, I am prompted with a window that states "Windows Store caches and license may be corrupt. Resetting Windows Store will resolve cache and license issues and restart Windows Store, would you like to reset now?" Clicking "Reset and open Windows Store" brings up a message about my display adapter drivers being out of date and running Device Troubleshooter to identify known issues. Running Device Troubleshooter states that some hardware changes may not have been detected." So Only 2 options at this point are to explore additional options (talk to a friend or seek help online) or close the troubleshooter.
I also tried running the Powershell script, shown below. Command script says "Deployment Initialized" for a split-second. After attempting to open Windows Store, the Status Bar keeps turning (Windows Store never loads).
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks,
Carl

I posted this on another forum, for some people it works and others it does not. Just spreading the fix around.
It will take about a min to do its stuff, but it will make the store start to work. For some people this does not work and just throws them errors of corrupt files.
- Open cmd in administrator
- Run the following command without quotes: "powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml"
