    Cannot get cipher.exe to work

I have seen this posted here before but I do not recall the problem being resolved ........

I am trying to run cipher.exe in an elevated command prompt using "cipher /w:C" to wipe free disk space , even though I am the administrator on the administrator account, whether I run at an elevated cmd prompt or not I get the same message ....

"This program is blocked by group policy, For more information, contact your system administrator"

I get the same message when I try to use SDelete also.
I know CCleaner wipes free space also but it takes forever to do it, even when it is set on one pass, on a 1TB drive with 630GB free space to wipe CCleaner takes 14+ hours to wipe with one pass.

How do I get around the above problem in group policy?

BTW, I have also tried to reset the group policy editor to default also ....... does not work.

Running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with all Windows updates in place.

Information Technology: Malwarebytes - This Program is Blocked by Group Policy

Thanks to the good folks at MSFN.

After following the simple directions the cipher command now works.
Don't be discouraged because the directions are directed solely at Malwarebytes, it pertains to pretty much anything that you get the "This Program is Blocked by Group Policy" error with, read the comments below the directions.
