full screen photo viewer at half screen

I'm looking for a software that allows me to see a picture (jpg, etc...) in full screen but at the same time that I can have at half screen able to for example use Word 2013 at the same time

When I use Windows Photo Viewer the only way to see a picture full screen is playing the slide show and then pressing pause so that the pic does not change, but when I have it at half screen the rest of the screen is black I cannot have my screen with another program to write on there.

which pic software may allow that?

I'm not looking for advanced photo programs because I don't want to edit the pic just to see it in full screen.

To start, there is a difference between the Maximize/Restore button in the middle of the 3 at top right corner of windows and the feature of Full Screen gained by toggling the F11 key on most computers. Using Full Screen allows viewing but not toolbars, Taskbar, etc. One way of getting part of what you want is to have two windows/programs open and right-click the Taskbar to choose how the windows are displayed. Clicking in the middle of the image windows to get the focus on it then pressing F11 should show the image plus it wouldn't affect the other program. It probably would work better if using a 23" or larger monitor or using 2 monitors, splitting the tasks between them.

Sorry I don't get it.
Let's say I have a Word doc at half screen and then I open a graphic in Windows Photo Viewer. If I press at the photo to be sure that my focus is there and then F11 so the WHOLE screen will appear and I will lose my half screen Word view.
I wonder if there is a special photo program that allows to see the pic at half screen WITHOUT viewing toolbars, taskbar, titles of the file and so forth.

You must be doin something wrong.
For example I have just opened my avatar with windows photo viewer and pressed F11, and here is how it looks:

Untitled.png

Here is how it looks at half screen:

Capture2.PNG

Hope that helps

well your example helps. Look at your right half screen, you have Windows Photo Viewer but it is NOT in full screen. That's why I want. To have a half screen full view pic and the other half screen another application where I can write while I can see the full screen pic. Since it seems not possible with Windows Photo Viewer I ask if there would be another photo program that allows that

You need 2 monitors.

OR

Use enlarge function within Windows photo viewer to get larger image.

Hint:
Use Windows key + -> or Windows key + <- to instantly move windows around your screen

not sure if there is such application to fulfill your expectations. there is no such thing as "half full screen"

Assuming I understand what you're trying to do correctly, you can do this if you use the Windows Photos app (instead of Windows Photo Viewer) to view the photos. You can do this either permanently by setting it as a default program, or temporarily by right-clicking on a photo and choosing 'Open with > Photos'.

The Windows Photo app will show pictures full screen, and if you then use the 'Snap' feature of Windows 8, you can show the desktop (with Word) on one half of the screen and the Photos app on the other half.

The downside is that the Photos app isn't as good as Windows Photo Viewer, so if for example you want to view the photo at 100%, there isn't a button to do so, instead you'll have to just use + and - (and guess).

@ARC1020. Your input is useful and it is indeed a solution. However I don't want to use the Snap feature of Windows 8. I don't like it as I don't like anything related to Metro for Windows. I think Windows is mixing the essence and the benefits of a PC Windows and trying to do something like a Mac. The worse is that I don't see both compatible in the sense as so far Metro windows cannot be manage as desktop Windows. For that reason I prefer everything related to the pre Metro idea where you can manage everything with shortcuts and easy handle of star bar, etc. I know my comment is disputable but well is the essence of my original question at this thread: thus I'm looking for a graphic software that is not a Win app and allows me to see a pic without any toolbar and can be managed as another desktop app.
