So I've use disk emulator software for years for gaming and other purposes. Just recently got a new pc with win8 and tried to install 2 such programs, daemon tools (which I'v mainly used for all these years) which doesn't work (not supported by win8) and another such program which also doesn't work at all....eventually researched for a program that is win8 supported and it's working fine but I CANNOT uninstall daemon and the other program, the uninstall gets about halfway or not at all through the progress bar and just freezes.....have tried uninstaller programs but the same thing happens, any advice on uninstalling them?

Also, for Win8/8.1, there are utilities you can search for on the web, that convert various proprietary ISO formats (from Nero, Power Iso, Magic Iso, Alcohol, etc.) to standard Iso format -I used one to convert a .nrg file to a standard Iso file. Once you do that, you can use Windows native Iso utility to mount it.

Strange, I'm using Daemon Tools lite right now. It is supported on both 8 and 8.1. http://www.daemon-tools.cc/products/dtLite#compatible

What version are you trying to run?

As for uninstalling, make sure you don't have any images mounted and try uninstalling all virtual drives first in Device Manager.
