When I first installed Paint Shop Pro 7 on my (OEM) machine it worked without problem. It also worked properly after a system reset.
Now that I have installed a fresh retail version of the operating system I have encountered a slight problem with Paint Shop Pro. It is installed in the Program Files( x86) folder.
If I try to open a jpg by clicking on it, or by right clicking on it and selecting "Open with paint Shop Pro", I am told that "This app can't run on your PC" etc, and suggests I contact the program's manufacturer.
But if I open Paint Shop Pro, I can drag and drop jpegs into it and they open.
Why is this installation of Windows 8.1 behaving differently, and how can I overcome the inconvenience?
