You should be able to access and browse the store even when logged on with a local account, however, if you want to download/install any of the applications, you'll need to sign in with a Microsoft account. There is also a chance that the message you're seeing suggests you can 'try again' as part of the message. if this is so, it's a transient network problem, which if you keep trying, will eventually let you connect.

If, after continued attempts to gain access, with or without a Microsoft account, considering the other problems you've bee having - Problem With Mail,People,Messaging - I'd suggest you consider a Refresh

Unfortunately, you haven't replied to the other thread, with the information I requested, so it's difficult to suggest anything other than the a refresh. The tutorial is in the link above.

Perhaps it is something to do with geography and Microsoft not having a "Store" there (yet)? I have no clue and its just a guess at a possible reason.

I agree with GMan. @Mygamers you will probably find that Calendar, Maps, and even Skydrive won't work either.

Possibly true but as the OP has a Microsoft account and thus a Windows ID, he's obviously been able to connect to some services in the past. However, until the OP can post some additional details, anything is speculation.

I think it is because of what I said above:

Windows Store markets

That doesn't list Iran. It is very likely because of politics and all that stuff.

Indeed, Iran is not of the list of countries for 'Store' access and Microsoft's geopolitical statement would suggest this is unlikely to change. There's also the question of censorship within the country itself. However, the OP has also had problems accessing Mail, People and Messaging yet, the OP does have a Microsoft account. Regardless, the OP sent me a PM with an update and I've asked for additional information.

Try setting I.E. to use Tor with Polipo.

I personally use Tor with Privoxy though.

Either is good.

Hi Gman,

I wanted to use Tor from long back itself, as I'm using wireless network from college.
But Tor hangs at "Establishing an encrypted directory connectionTor.png"

Close Vidalia (that also closes Tor).

Delete everything in C:\Users\{yourusernamehere}\AppData\Roaming\tor

Then extract the contents of my attachment to that folder. Start Vidalia.

Works? If not, your ISP might be blocking the heck out of it to where the files I've given you can't even work.

Make sure your time and date are set right, or it won't work if that's wrong either.

Go to your Network tab in Vidalia and try checking the boxes there for these 3. Try different combinations if needed. Close/restart after each try.
