This is less an instal/software post than an odd rant.

I know it will be a waste of time.... bbuutttt.....

Heres the thing net framework would not update I tried some fixes to no avail then cleaned out all net framework with the tool now I am running without net framework. Kasversky is a goner as are a few games and programs. Terra copy and Ultra/Super copier crash out after a short period of time but other stuff works fine and using explorer to move 200GB worth'o'crap worked fine prompts and all.

This install is maybe a bit more than a year old so its probably time to put it down like old yellower.

I just had a thought has anyone tried to make a program that backs up the registry and handles new registry entries like a reg files, that way you have a lot of control over registry repair and recovery.

BTW is there anything can can easily save and restore all your task bar icons and folder favorites? I know I can find most of it in the depths of the ProgramData file but still.....

Have you tried Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool .

Do you mean something like Tweaking.com Registry Backup.

I tried the 3 to 4.5 fixes and nothing worked.

That only makes a single large backup I mean something that can be installed right after windows that logs and makes it easy to quickly remove or reinstall any new registry entries that were made. Tho I guess if you make daily backups going back a week and weekly backups going back a month it should cover most issues. Ah sorry I think out loud.... LOL

Lets give all an update on the fun, so I tried to install win 8.1 over my win7 install, it complained about previous setup/install stuff so I deleted that stuff then I tried yo upgrade it in win 7 said the CPU is too slow(I7 4.0Ghz, 8 thread, 4 core) everything else says the CPU is fine, I tried booting it up and running a custom install, after 2 or 3 tries it kep failing to move all the old stuff into the .old folders.....since now the OS HD is brokenz I pulled the drive and hooked it up to my semi newly repaied laptop (HP TM2 nr215 soemthing) I love my laptop but after 3 more repalcements and this one's video card being flicking in desktop but nothing else I am about to shoot people...oh and its been trying to move 170GB worth of data via USB 2.0 for 9 or so hours......

I want to harm more people now........

And thats not all, I use Windows media recoder to record my local radio streams becuse they are to small/cheap/non mindless national clones to do pod casts so I have to record...well it seems the new version has a bug...... it can not find the record folder no matter what I do....(reinstall,registry wipe, ect, ect, ect, its doing it on both my win7 aptop and my uncels win8.1 laptop going to have to bug the dev again) so I can not use the scheduler I have to manually turn it on and off.... from 5am to 8pm I gave up around 4AM last night....I am surprised its still running but its running....... uhg all this glitching text and blocks and graphics is driving my nuts too...but I guess thats a short trip....

fun times fun times....... I should have just pulled the data, formatted the drive and installed it...tho I wonder if I need to reset the bios on my z97 oc formula to ensure it dose not lock up or anything during install this time.... I mean I do not have it oc'd but the quick boot stuff might be messing with it...
