    debut video capture won't run

Debut Video Capture won't run. After booting up, the system ignores my first attempt to open Debut, then all subsequent attempts I get this response, "The instruction at 0x00551d39 referenced memory at 0x00551d39. The memory could not be written." I get the same message when I try to uninstall Debut, or when I click on associated applications. I deactivated EMET, and DEP, but nothing seems to work and I can't even uninstall it. I thought about surgery on the registry, but there seems to be a lot of keys and values, and they're spread out all over the place. What do I do?

I ended up restoring from a macrium image, which did the trick. I kinda think it might be one of the Microsoft updates, so I'm going to install them one at a time. Thanks to you both!
