Looking for simple Backup & Restore Software

Hello! I just installed a Windows 8 computer for a friend and he needs a simple, automated backup solution comparable to the Backup & Restore included in Windows 7. Can someone recommend a good freeware that can be scheduled to do incremental data backups as well as system images? Thanks, and if this has already been discussed just link those threads

Thanks for the reply. Macrium looks good, but unfortunately the free version doesn't do incremental backups.

Sometimes one must pay for what they want.

I use the standard version of Macrium & find it very useful.

AOMEI Backupper Technician has proven to work well for me.

Not sure if free version has the incremental backup feature, though.

Macrium works well too but no incremental backups w/out pay.

AOMEI Backupper Standard does have the ability to schedule incremental backups. I will give it a try, thanks.

I use the built-in "file history" facility to do continuous incremental backups (to a networked drive) of my personal data, and then do weekly full disk image backups (to a portable USB drive) with macrium reflect free to allow for recovery from a catastrophic crash or infection.

I was under the impression that Simple Software Policy would boot and activate on it's own, and you would then have to elevate in order to turn it off to install a program. Hello, I'd like a really simple backup solution. It should take a backup of the folders I select, and always run in the background copying whenever there's a change. Of course only when the computer is idle. I don't need revisions of the files - I just want the latest version of the files. So...
Hi everyone, I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 OS on my HP Pavilion p6330f desktop PC. Prior to installing the new Windows 8.1 tower, I copied and saved to DVD+R disks my documents, pictures, videos, etc. from Windows 7 OS. Then I tried to install them into my new Windows 8.1 OS...

I'm one of the traditional type of Windows users who boots straight to their desktop and uses third party software for the most part. Although I am aware of, and do use, the resident backup and imaging tool, 'file history' obviously doesn't include 'app data' which I'm just copying onto an external...
