Program to tell you changes .exe file made

Is there any program that will show me all the files and registry changes made when an executible is run? For example if I suspect something is a virus, after I run it I can see if the .exe created any new files or messed with something?

You can scan .exe files before running them if you have the right antivirus program.

Someone else may come along & help you find a program.

Process Monitor can do much of what you want but be aware it is designed for advanced users (usually programmers) who are willing to take the time to learn it's operation. You won't learn this from a few forum posts. I would question the usefulness of such a program for security purposes. An anti virus program is much easier to use and more effective.

Thanks. AVs are not perfect so I figure if I can see myself what a file creates I can manually inspect. I don't download suspicious files often but I think it'd be a useful thing to have.
