I'm looking for a HTML to PDF converter, preferably a free

I have a "doc" folder with multi level linked html files. It is the specification of a software library.

I would like to convert the WHOLE folder into a PDF file I can transfer to my iPad so I can access the specifications away from my desktop.

I have tried half a dozen programs/online facilities that, either don't work off the HDD or only convert ONE level starting from "index.html".

I CAN go to the lowest level and convert some info but NOT the whole document.

Anyone know of a free (or trial) (or non expensive) convertor? Supposedly, there are some that cost hundreds of dollars. AND I don't know if THEY work? I don't want to pay that kind of cash and find it doesn't do this or it doesn't do that.

I suspect there isn't a free convertor but I thought I would ask. :)

Thanks, no as it didn't come up on my "Google".

Is it trialable or does it watermark? I'm not at home on my iPad hence I ask. :)

Will have a good look when I get home. :)

I did look at it. :)

I think it seems to suggest it only works from the browser NOT from a folder on a hard drive?

I may have glossed over it as I had just tried another program that ended with a "unrecognised URL" as it was a HDD reference.

I WILL have another look when I get home though....

Thanks.

I got it installed.
I created an HTML file & converted it to PDF.

There was no watermark. :)

Thanks. Did you test file have lots of levels? Sorry, not near my desktop so I can't test it myself. :)

Can you click on a level and descend to the lower level, click something else and descend again etc etc?

Thanks for your being a guinea pig. :D

Only 1 level.
You are going to have to test it yourself.

It is easy to uninstall it if isn't what you are looking for. :)

I downloaded and installed Adobe as suggested.

Ran it on "index.html" from the HDD but killed it after it appeared to "hang" for 20 minutes.

Ran it from Firefox and after about 40 minutes using 15% of the CPU it reported "index.html" was corrupt. It suggested printing it to Adobe PDF. Did this and it created the usual 1 level file with NO links to any sub levels.

I'll give running it from the HDD again tomorrow....

I'll also give PDFCreator (from memory) a try tomorrow. Do you know if that is multi-level?

Sorry, too busy babysitting during the day.... :)

Okay, woke up at 05:30 and tried it. From the HDD failed with the same message.

Tried to "Add current page to the existing PDF and it did JUST that. It added just the visible part of the current page to the existing PDF :(

Sorry, all in all Adobe XI Pro was a total failure :(

Uninstalling it NOW....
