I find Windows Repair a great tool, specially because Shane uses Windows API's and commands. I will try this before reinstalling or reimaging to avoid the update chaos.

Run the repair but didn't fix anything according to Reflect, going to uninstall it and try again.

If you uninstall it, you should purge it totally from your system, you know zap it in the registry (H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE & _CURRENT_USER--Software) and in the User App Date folder, so settings from previous install and corruptions are not carried over.

Used Revo to uninstall it but maybe didn't get it all, will try by hand.

Well, it would not image SSD with Win 8.1 even from Win 10 10135. Checked disk with chkdisk, HDD Sentinel and Easus Partition Master and EPM only found 7 bad sectors at very beginning. If true, that might be the problem.
    Edit.
Definitely a problem with SSD, detailed check by Sentinel found some IO errors (2). Problem is that I can't fix it til beginning of next month.

Tnx, never seen that part but looks like I'm having some trouble with this SSD and will have to solve that first. I'll see if I can make backup like that before I safety erase SSD and transfer it back. If it doesn't work I have last backup from month and half before, that one should work OK. That's the only way I can find if SSD is in full order and if not will have to RMA it. It has 5 year guarantee but is only couple of weeks old, hope it's just some SW screw up.
    Edit.
Just tried twice, still dieing at 12 % with same IO error.

Yes, that's a nice feature, should speed things up considerably. As far as other backups go, there's a function to backup Windows only, wander what would that do ? Backup Files doesn't work in free version though.
Tried windows backup/image only but still stuck at 12%. According to one program, there are few bad sectors at about that place on disk. Easus PM shows only one bad sector and that's very first one but it wouldn't BOOT if that was true, would it ?

In the case of an SSD I couldn't tell you, because the SSD's controller's job is to lie to the OS, when it comes to where and how data is stored.
Simply put, the first job of the SSD controller is to lie its butt off! Really! Here are the lies the controller must tell in order to work:
1: It has to tell your BIOS and motherboard "Don't mind me, I'm just a plain old fast hard drive. you can boot from me and use me!"
2: After the hardware accepts the SSD, the SSD controller has to tell the same lie to the operating system which is used to performing input and output to specific blocks on a hard drive. Basically, the operating system is fooled into thinking it is in full control of where on the SSD the data is going, since it has always had control in the past on normal hard drives. There is a lot of logic inviolved in this, so the controller has its own processor and basic operating system (firmware).
